We are excited to announce our acquisition of the Sodura Brand of modern wooden toddler furniture. Previously manufactured in Louisville Kentucky, we are almost finished transitioning manufacturing to our plant in Denver Colorado.

Sodura was founded in 2011 by Brian and Carmen Scyphers to provide functional, modern furniture made in the USA at an affordable price. Though not as long-standing as Little Colorado, Sodura’s mission and vision around sustainability, safety, and value is much the same – which made the acquisition a perfect fit.

The Sodura product line is similar to Little Colorado’s but emphasizes Baltic birch construction rather than knotty pine and emphasizes toddler beds rather than toy boxes. The Sodura design style is more modern while Little Colorado is more traditional. We think they make a perfect match with the right balance of similarities, while still being well differentiated.

In the near future, we will be making all of Sodura’s products available on littlecolorado.com in addition to the current listings on moderntots.com, wayfair.com, and amazon.com.

The Sodura acquisition is the next step in Little Colorado’s plan to become the leading wooden toddler furniture company, committed to manufacturing in the USA. We believe there is a tremendous opportunity in the market because parents want to know their products are safe and that manufacturing is as sustainable as possible. That’s where our vision for Little Colorado, and now Sodura, starts but it continues with a passion for designing new innovative products and partnering with other companies and brands like Mod Mom and Bannor Toys.
