This weekend we were at the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival here in Denver, and was it amazing: paintings, sculpture, furniture, glassware, jewelry—you name it. But we especially loved its recreation station for kids, from toddler age up.
Even the wee ones took a turn creating their own large scale paintings. They perfectly illustrate the festival’s theme: “Art is for Everyone.” We agree!
But parents and teachers know that your kids can have the same fun at home. Here are four essentials for 2018:
1. Creativ’ Craft Stencils Set for Kids (age 3 and up), with over 260 stencil templates that will encourage kids to create their own imaginative worlds, populated with their favorite animals, dinosaurs, and plants. The kit includes colored pencils and a sharpener.
2. Klutz Coloring Cute (ages 5 and up) offers adorable creatures, animals and monsters for kids to color and develop fine motor skills. The pages are perforated, so they can pull them out to share and display their creativity.
3. Kid Made Modern Art Kit: Smarts and Crafts Case (age 6 and up). This kit holds everything, with lots of textures and colors: pompoms, sequins, and beads, chenille stems, and kid-safe scissors.
4. Little Colorado Arts & Crafts Table, for kids of all ages. This classic piece of American-made kids furniture is perfect for projects of all sorts and the big brother to our Small Arts & Crafts Table. (shown below) The height and depth is the same as our Small Arts and Crafts Table, but the width is 8″ longer. The table features two storage drawers and is large enough to accommodate four to six children. Our Open Back Chairs and Solid Back Chairs beautifully complement this piece.
